What a glorious day for a run! Bright sunshine, just a light breeze and no humidity. Ashley, Elrey, Kathryn, Abigail, Jenna, Bruce and I joined Johan and his team from the Emergency Room at Cambridge Memorial in the Run for the Grapes.
The Run for the Grapes, part of the Niagara Running Series, is a half marathon and 5K run in support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation. We, and our friends at CMH, also used it as our annual fundraiser for our friends at Rachel’s Home. For Jenna, Abigail and Elrey, this was their first road race and yes everyone completed it without stopping. I think everyone had a great time running for a pair of special causes.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll tally up the pledge forms and report back to the congregation on the final total.
As always, thank-you again to Johan and his team from CMH. They started this tradition back in 2011 and they’ve run for Rachel’s Home every year since. Their efforts have been a blessing to our mission from the very beginning.
Thank-you to everyone who supported us, both through sponsorship and prayer. It really is a joy to be part of such a wonderful mission.
Blessings
Greg
