Can your six-year old make a quilt? Mine can!
At Sunnyside Wesleyan Church in Ottawa, I run a group called God’s Little Princesses for girls ages five to ten. Last week, we made quilt panels with fabric markers and an old Ikea sheet. The girls diligently drew pictures and wrote Bible verses on their panels. They were buzzing with excitement and chatted about sending a cozy quilt halfway around the world to the children at Rachel’s Home in Lesotho.
Our Children’s Pastor Miranda Valentini volunteered to sew the quilt and we are all excited to see how it turns out.
Some of the girls wrote letters to the children at Rachel’s and are hoping to become pen pals with a girl their own age.
Watching the girls work away to create something lovely for someone they don’t know was so touching.
