Yes, we made it to 5,000 cans. When combined with the totals brought in by Wesley, Trillium and Cedar Hill United Churches and Westside Presbyterian Church, our Cambridge-wide total reached more than 9,000 items for the Cambridge Self Help Food Bank.
That works out to more than one and half tons of Food. Now, that's some heavy lifting.
We've already begun to think about next year. Of course, we'll need a pretty ambitious goal for Central, but we're really hoping to bring more churches in. We really want to see the churches of Cambridge leave 10,000 items in the dust as we, the churches of Cambridge, strive to make an even bigger impact on food insecurity in our community.
