April 30

So, we have come to the end of April, how time flies. I am sure the old saying of April showers bring May flowers will be true this year. We had a lot of rain lately, but it seems the next week will bring a bit more sunshine. I hope you are doing well and taking good care of yourself.

Worship – Livestream

It is a privilege to be able to still share the Word of the Lord with you every Sunday. I know it is not the same as being in church together as a faith community but at least the chat feature on the livestream gives us a chance to say good morning and to check in with one another. The idea of the livestream is not to try and put together a production, but to use it as a tool to continue worshipping together. Of course, we continue to strive for excellence as always. I think this will create a brand-new way for outreach in the future. Thank you again to everyone working behind the scenes to make this possible very Sunday. Please feel free to share the link with your friends and family. To watch the livestream at 10am on Sunday just go to the website and click on the YouTube link in the top left-hand corner.

Just a reminder that I post a Podcast for you on the Website every Tuesday. You will find it on the Home page under Podcasts. Here is the link for this week (https://centralchurchcambridge.ca/churchlife/podcast/april-28)

Serving opportunities

  • We have people in the congregation who do not have access to internet or a computer so unfortunately, they cannot listen to the Podcasts or the messages. We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to transcribe the Podcast (and even the Sunday messages) into a Word document so we can mail it out to these folks. If you can help with this please send an email to session@cpcmail.ca indicating that you are willing to do this and we will provide you with more information.
  • Thanks again to the team who delivered the chocolates to our Seniors and homebound members. We have had so many calls to say thank you. If you want to get involved with this ministry please send an email to the office (office@cpcmail.ca) and we will connect you with the team taking care  of this.
  • Just a reminder that we have a whole team of volunteers that can help with any needs. The best way to connect is to send an email to the office (office@cpcmail.ca) or to leave a message on the answering machine (519-623-1080).

Ministries

There are links to all the ministries on the website or you can leave a message at the office if you need help with anything.

Families and Junior youth have or will be receiving a little surprise on their doorstep soon. So watch the porch!

The last word today belongs to David:

Psalm 23 Good News Translation (GNT)

1The Lord is my shepherd;
    I have everything I need.
He lets me rest in fields of green grass
    and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water.
He gives me new strength.
He guides me in the right paths,
    as he has promised.
Even if I go through the deepest darkness,
    I will not be afraid, Lord,
    for you are with me.
Your shepherd’s rod and staff protect me.

You prepare a banquet for me,
    where all my enemies can see me;
you welcome me as an honored guest
    and fill my cup to the brim.
I know that your goodness and love will be with me all my life;
    and your house will be my home as long as I live.

God bless,
Aubrey
