“He is Risen” is not just a phrase — it is the hinge of all human history, the heartbeat of the Christian faith, and the declaration that death is no longer the end. It means that Jesus Christ, who was crucified, did not remain in the tomb. He conquered sin, He defeated death, and He rose again.
Spiritually, this moment tears open the veil between heaven and earth. Where there was separation, now there is union. Where there was despair, now there is joy. Where there was condemnation, now there is grace. The resurrection is God’s final word — and it is a word of love, victory, and eternal life.
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you” Ezekiel 36:26. 💗 In this verse, God is not just offering repair — He is offering resurrection. The miracle of transformation: where numbness once ruled, compassion will bloom; where bitterness once clung, joy will flow freely. The “new spirit” is a vibrant rebirth — a spirit able to love deeply, hope endlessly, and trust completely.
In Matthew 16:21–28, Jesus tells His disciples about His coming suffering—and calls us to follow Him by laying down our own ways. ‘Whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will find it.’ Surrender isn’t weakness—it’s the doorway to purpose, peace, and eternal life. #TakeUpYourCross #Matthew1628 #FaithOverFear”
Join us this Sunday, April 6th as Dr. Rev. Aubrey Botha unpacks Matthew 16:21-28 (NIV). This passage calls us to align our perspective with God’s, trust in His plan, and commit to following Jesus. God’s plan often looks different from what we expect. Come expectant, because when God shows up, everything changes!
The battle we fight is real—temptation lurks, struggles persist, and the weight of sin tries to pull us back. But remember who you are in Christ! Your old self was crucified with Him, and you are no longer a slave to sin (Romans 6:6-7). In the midst of the fight, cling to the promise of eternal life: “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.’” (John 6:54)
You are redeemed, strengthened, and victorious in Him. Keep fighting the good fight!♥️
THE BATTLE WE FIGHT!
Join us this Sunday, March 23, 2025, as Dr. Aubrey Botha delivers a powerful sermon on overcoming the struggles we face in our spiritual journey.
“We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ, we were set free from the power of sin.” – Romans 6:6-7
The battle is real, but victory is ours in Christ! Will you stand and fight with faith? Everyone Welcome / 10am
Another member of Central Church who was just awarded the King Charles III Medal! Congratulations David Pinnington!
He is a committed community volunteer who has applied his professional expertise and knowledge to help develop and grow organizations which benefit all citizens of Cambridge.
David has served as President of the Cambridge Association for Community Living, the first civilian President of the Cambridge Fire Museum and Education Centre and Chair of the Conestoga College Business Administration Management Studies Program Advisory Committee and many more.
In many cases, such as the Cambridge and North Dumfries Community Foundation and the Cambridge Fire Museum and Education Centre to name but two examples, David was there at the beginning to help get them started when they were simply a good idea and a hope for the future. Today these two organizations are an integral part of the life of this community.

When Jesus calls, everything changes. Just as He called Lazarus from the tomb, He calls each of us out of the grave of sin, shame, and hopelessness. His voice brings new life, freedom, and purpose—lifting us from darkness into His glorious light (1 Peter 2:9). When we respond to His call, we step into a life filled with grace, redemption, and the power of His resurrection (Romans 6:4).
