THANK YOU for Great Support at the Pancake Supper
Warm “real” maple syrup poured over a stack of fluffy pancakes with a side of sausages, topped off with ice cream and other sweet delights – could it get any better than that? More than 75 friends and family filled the hall and sat down to a lively enjoyable dinner on Shrove Tuesday. The crew in the kitchen were kept quite busy as some returned for seconds. We raised $522.12 (88 tickets sold) for Rachel’s Home in Lesotho, our international mission to support an HIV/AIDS orphanage and community school. A great big thank you to all our guests for your generous support, shoppers, cooks, servers, set up and cleanup crews and photographer. Did you know that pancakes, in Christianity, represent the four pillars of the Christian faith – eggs for creation, flour as the mainstay of the human diet, salt for wholesomeness and milk for purity? We may offer another pancake supper this fall.
