“Supper at Central” is a newly planned act of service opportunity; a monthly dinner featuring “sloppy joes” , salad and dessert for the community of Cambridge. This is a free dinner, and is intended to help families and people who are having a difficult time making ends meet find a place to go to get a good meal in a friendly social setting; it is intended to augment Bridges offering and will run in the winter months – January to April, The time of meal serving is coordinated so that patrons can use the local buses to get to downtown Cambridge, and can get on the last bus back to their homes by 6:45 pm. Servers required to support event – 4 to 5 men. Men can bring their kids to serve also, however, if younger than 13 they will need to remain as a server in the kitchen area only. Cooking responsibility – not a Rugged Hands responsibility for January. Donna Armstrong – event coordinator.
