Scratching the Surface

Some questions sit at the heart of Christian faith and take more time to explore. This space is for those conversations. It’s by no means a deep dive into the core theology of Christianity. However, these topics are a critical part of our faith and we are going to take the time here to look at them.

We’re going to look at sin, repentance and forgiveness, the sacraments, salvation, and other topics, but we will still try to keep them grounded and relevant in everyday life.

Sin, for example, sounds very Christian, but sin is really more about morality than it is specifically about Christianity. Things like assault and murder are morally wrong regardlesss of your faith. The Christian faith calls them sin, but by whatever name, those acts are still horribly wrong.

Repentance also sounds very Christian, but it’s really the process of admitting that what you did was wrong, accepting responsibility for the action, and undertaking to learn from it and avoid such acts in the future. Repentance is personal growth, again regardless of faith.

If you started with the “Our Beliefs” page, then we’ve already introduced you to some of them. On this page, we will dive a tiny bit deeper and explore a few more.
