The Last Supper – Holy Communion
The Presbyterian Church holds that communion is an act of remembrance. “Do this in remembrance of me” – Jesus.
The bread and the wine, or in the case of the Presbyterian Church, usually grape juice, are symbols of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us when he died on the cross for our sins. We believe that through communion, we honour Jesus and we remember that he is indeed our Lord and Savior.
We remember his sacrifice, but we also remember his resurrection. The story of Jesus doesn’t end at the cross. He is risen. This too is the good news of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Communion is for everyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as their savior. If you take communion in your church, you are welcome to take communion at Central.
“Do this in remembrance of me”.
