Today is Random Act of Kindness Day.

Random Act of Kindness day, isn’t supposed to be a day set aside for random acts of kindness. Instead, it’s supposed to be a day when we celebrate those acts of kindness that ought to be a part of our everyday life.

Of course, go out and do a random act of kindness today. It’s good practice, a good way to start a habit that will become a part of your character. Today, and every day, honour those acts and thank those people who perform them.

A selfless act of kindness is an act of love and love is at the very core of the message of Jesus Christ. More than anything else Jesus call on us to love and other. This call crosses political boundaries, national boundaries, religious boundaries, geographic boundaries, ethnic boundaries and all the other boundaries.

We are called to love our neighbours, to love our enemies. This is what the Bible says:

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone

If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

So yes, let’s celebrate Random Act of Kindness Day.
