Rice is Nice
Rice is a nutrient-rich staple, primarily offering complex carbohydrates for sustained energy, plus protein, fiber (especially in brown rice), and essential minerals like manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, and zinc, along with B vitamins, while being naturally gluten-free and low in sodium and fat.
Brown rice provides more fiber, magnesium, and phosphorus than white rice, which is often enriched with iron and folate. Both can be a valuable part of a balanced diet.
It’s also our Food of the Month for the Cambridge Food Bank.
For the month of January, we well be collecting boxes of rice for the Cambridge Food Bank. Remember to add boxes of rice to your weekly grocery run and bring those boxes to church on Sunday mornings in January.
The baskets will be at back of the sanctuary. Let’s fill them!
Together, we can make a difference in our community.
