With Summer just around the corner (seriously!), the Rugged Hands Men’s Ministry headed up to Camp Kintail for its spring retreat. After a couple of false starts on the previous two weekends; winter just wouldn’t let go, and a last minute decision to try again, nine guys headed up for a weekend of work, play and fellowship.
We assembled a barbecue, basketball nets and 25 rocking chairs. We also planted 50 trees. No picnic tables this time, the efforts of previous teams has ensured that the camp has plenty of tables in great shape.
It’s wonderful to see the progress and the growth that Kintail has experienced over the past 5 years. This summer, the camp will again provide our children with an amazing experience and a safe environment to learn about themselves and learn about our Lord.
As always, Stephen and Ed prepared a wonderful dinner Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning. Saturday evening, Alistair shared his story and Sunday morning, Garry led us in worship. His message reminded us that we’re not supposed to walk this journey alone. It was a message that reminded us that our Lord has surrounded us with wonderful friends and together we can always find a way.
It was a great weekend. We won’t look forward to our fall retreat yet. We certainly don’t want to wish the summer away, but we will be returning in the fall and our Kintail retreats are always an amazing experience.
