In Support of the Cambridge Food Bank

WOW! What a wonderful night full of amazing talent so diverse and from all ages! We
even had a dog on stage for the very first time. The evening started at 6:30 p.m. with
some great refreshments provided by the Missions Team. The ice cream bars were a
definite hit for all the kids. At the end of the evening many people revisited the hall for a
second round of goodies.

We wish to give a special thank you to so many volunteers that made this such an
enjoyable and fun evening. Thanks to Scott Beda who arranged for 15 different talent
acts, mostly from within our congregation, to perform for us. Scott McHardy and his
stage and screen crew (Greg, Alejandro, and Grace) did a very professional audio-visual job for us. Greeters at the doors included Henry, Sandy, Lawrence, and Lorna. We arranged to have Jen Wright from the Cambridge Food Bank attend and speak to us.

Judith, David, and Dawn helped serve in the kitchen. Thanks to Don, our custodian,
who provided so much help and took part in the program. Thanks to Alistair who created some great promotional material. And there were so many others that played a part in making this a successful evening.

We were so pleased to see all generations well represented and so much diversity in
talent – dance, saxophone, trombone, singing old and new songs, piano, organ, various guitars, drums. Becky Barrie brought her spaniel Thunder to show us some tricks. Aiden was full of energy as he danced to the Irish musical Riverdance and other acts. Our choir and praise band also added to the delightful evening. We were truly blessed.

Support for our Food Bank, Central’s local mission project, was very generous. In
addition to many food items filling our baskets at the doors, $1675.00 was donated. One in 8 families presently suffer food insecurity in Waterloo County, so we thank all those who came out and supported such a worthy cause.
