The Harp

Psalm 98:5

5 make music to the Lord with the harp,

with the harp and the sound of singing,

The Psalms are ancient songs, many written by King David or his son King Solomon. Psalms can be of mourning or of praise. This Psalm is a psalm of celebration

Let Your Light Shine

Matthew 5:14-16

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

The lamp is often used as a symbol to remind us of the Christian ethic of doing good deeds.

Holy Communion

Matthew 26:27-28

27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of theb]">[b]covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

This passage if from "The Last Supper", where Jesus gave us the new covenant (promise).

The Ten Commandments

Exodus 20

The Ten Commandments

20 And God spoke all these words:

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

“You shall have no other gods beforea]">[a] me.

“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lordwill not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

13 “You shall not murder.

14 “You shall not commit adultery.

15 “You shall not steal.

16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

The Holy Bible

The Holy Bible, our sacred text, is a book of books.

Written over a period of centuries, it's the work of many authors.

The Old Testament contains 39 books, while the New Testament has 27 books and letters.

Testament means, covenant or promise. The Old Testament is the old promise; the promise the God would, through the clan of Abraham, bless the World and bring forth a savior.

The New Testament is the new promise; the promise that his savior, Jesus Christ would return to bring God's people home to eternal life with the father.

The Bible is the Good News of these promises, made by God.

A Mighty Fortress

Psalm 18:10

10 The name of the Lord is a fortified tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.

An Anchor

Hebrews 6:19

19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

Crown of Heaven

1 Corinthians 9:25

25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Alpha

Revelation 22:13

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

Omega

Revelation 22:13

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

Holy Spirit

Luke 3

The Baptism and Genealogy of Jesus

21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

Jesus

Jesus

John 1:1-5

The Word Became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcomea]">[a] it.

This is how the Apostle John, introduces us to Jesus Christ.

His Followers
