“Rugged Hands” is a segment of the Men’s Ministry at Central Presbyterian Church that offers our men of all ages a unique and rewarding opportunity to participate in a fulfilling work weekend in early Spring and late Fall season supporting the wonderful year-round ministry of Camp Kintail. Out teams generally consist of 10-12 men.

Camp Kintail is a summer camp retreat centre, outdoor education and conference centre located on the shore of Lake Huron near Goderich, Ontario. It is owned and operated by the Presbyterian Church of Canada.

Purpose & Mission:
Each Rugged Hands weekend has a two-fold purpose:
1. An opportunity for our team to help and bless camp management in maintaining their property and facility in a variety of services as requested by the camp director. In the past such activities include:
• tree planting and removal
• painting & general facility maintenance
• constructing picnic tables, outdoor furniture, stone walkways
• general seasonal opening and closing duties

2. An opportunity for our men to reap many blessings that include:
• become better acquainted with each other enjoying working as a team, sharing lots of fun, fellowship and a time of worship and sometimes a refreshing dip in the lake
• practice and learn new practical skills
• developing a sense of fulfillment while enjoying providing for the needs of the camp ministry
• experience the natural beauty and incredible facilities offered by Camp Kintail.

Rugged Hands is a rewarding, fulfilling and fun filled work experience that sees men returning each season supporting a wonderful ministry but also being enriched by the warm, welcoming hospitality of Camp Kintail enjoying incredible meals, modern and comfortable accommodations and the rich fellowship of other men.
