Maleshoane, Phuthi and Quinn were orphaned when their mother died during child-birth. Maternal death during child birth is common cause of death among women and girls in Lesotho. Pre and post-natal care is often very difficult to obtain.
With the loss of their mother, these children found themselves among the more than 100,000 orphaned children in Lesotho. Without the care that places like Rachel’s Home offers, these children would be vulnerable to the violence and neglect that is an inevitable consequence of the loss of family.
With a new home and the love and care offered by Hilda, these children will have a fighting chance and they will be raised in a loving, Christian environment.
