Presbytery Mission Project

Save the date – Sunday 18th October! Following the amazingly successful event three years ago, the Presbytery of Waterloo Wellington is again organizing a sponsored walk/run/bike ride to support an important project of Presbyterian World Service and Development – our church’s own humanitarian mission focus. This year our goal is to raise funds for the education of girls in Afghanistan, an urgent clip_image017project in a challenging environment. Our efforts will earn matching funding from the Canadian Government and will help PWS&D to bring the education that we take for granted to young women who have never known it.

Why are we doing this? A few weeks ago we sang Hymn 471, with the great words that go, “They will know we are Christians by our love”. This is why we do mission work; why we send own volunteers to Lesotho and send workers to other places where we can’t go ourselves.

Updates will follow as details of the event become available, and please ask Aubrey or Andrew Foster for further information. For more information about PWS&D, please visit the website at http://www.presbyterian.ca/pwsd

clip_image019clip_image020Thanks to the congregation for supporting our Mums for Mission Sunday. Thank you to everyone who participated in the worship service and supplied soup for the luncheon.
